Governor Schwarzenegger's Inaugural Ceremony To Build On Bipartisan Spirit Sacramento, CA – Today, the Governor's 2007 Inaugural Committee announced that in the tradition of bipartisanship established by the Governor and the Legislature, former San Francisco mayor and prominent Democrat Willie Brown will serve as master of ceremonies for Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger's 2007 swearing-in ceremony. "The people of California elected this Governor to move the state forward, and working across party lines, he has done that,” said Mayor Brown. "I am honored to be part of such an historic day for California, and I am looking forward to helping the Governor launch his second term at an inauguration that will celebrate our state and bring Californians together." "Governor Schwarzenegger, working with the Legislature, has ushered in a new era of bipartisanship in Sacramento ," said Reed Galen, executive director of the Governor's 2007 Inaugural Committee. "As the Governor is sworn into a second term, he will build on this momentum toward bipartisan action and set the tone for another productive year centered on tackling the issues most important to Californians." On Friday, January 5, 2007 at 11 a.m., Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger will be sworn in to his second term at the Memorial Auditorium in downtown Sacramento. In addition to Mayor Brown serving as master of ceremonies, the program will include an invocation given by Pastor J. Alfred Smith, Sr., of Oakland's Allen Temple Baptist Church. California Supreme Court Chief Justice Ronald M. George will preside over the swearing-in of Governor Schwarzenegger to a second term. The 59th Army National Guard Band, "The Governor's Own," will also perform during the ceremony. Following the swearing-in, Governor Schwarzenegger and First Lady Maria Shriver will host a bipartisan reception in the Capitol Rotunda for all members of the California Legislature and the state's other constitutional officers.
